FAQs
Q. What is the difference between protein and carbohydrates?
A. Protein - This is the major source of building material for everything from blood and muscle to skin, hair, nails and internal organs. Protein helps control metabolism and regulates water balance. It also is extremely useful in maintaining muscle tone and muscle mass in dieting individuals.
Examples: Chicken Breast, Egg Substitute, Egg Whites, Fresh Fish, Tuna (canned in water) and Turkey Breast
1 gram of protein = 4 calories
Carbohydrates - These are sugars and starches and are the main source of energy for all muscle and body functions. Carbohydrates, or "carbs", are converted by the body to a simple sugar called glucose. Glucose that is not used as energy is converted to glycogen and stored in the muscles and liver, or converted to fat and stored throughout the body for later use. These glycogen stores can be consumed through short-term carb depletion and exercise. Once glycogen stores are depleted, body fat is used for energy, resulting in weight loss.
Examples: Starchy Carbs - Oatmeal, Potato, Rice, Yam
1 gram of carbs = 4 calories
Fibrous Carbs - Asparagus, Bell Pepper, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Celery, Collards, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Green Beans, Radishes, Tomato, Turnips, Zucchini
Fruits- Apple, Blueberry, Blackberry, Cherries, Grapes, Orange, Plum, Raspberry, Strawberry
Q. Is it QuickTrim Burn & Cleanse all natural?
A. The tablets cannot be called all natural because of the coatings. The colors and mica film coat prohibits us from saying that. Also, the caffeine is not from natural sources, it’s anhydrous, but other than those few things, it is natural ingredients.
Q. How and when do I take the different dietary supplements?
A. IsoBurn AM - Take 2 caplets with an 8 oz glass of water before exercise or between breakfast and lunch and 2 caplets with an 8 oz glass of water between lunch and dinner. (If getting nauseous, please take with food, or reduce to 1 caplet)
IsoCleanse PM - Take 2 tablets in the morning and 2 tablets in the evening
Q. How often must I exercise?
A. Pages 3-7 of the manual will tell you everything you need to know about the exercise portion of the program and how to choose one that is best for you. Although the exercise guidelines for maximum results are clearly defined, aerobic exercise once a day for 30 to 60 minutes is the established minimum. Weight training/resistance training is optional. If you decide to add it into your exercise program, a full body circuit training workout 3 times per weeks is a good guideline.
Q. How much protein and/or carbohydrates are in the suggested foods?
A. The "Low-Fat Food Preparation" section in the manual (pages 12-16) will provide you with what you need to know about protein and carbohydrate values of specific foods so that you may easily calculate your own portions. Fruits are just a simple substitution for carbs for the first 8 days.
Q. What if I don't like one or two of the suggested foods in the diet?
A. There are nine protein choices and eighteen carbohydrate choices:
Suggested Protein Choices: Chicken Breast, Fluke, Tuna (canned in water), Cod, Haddock, Egg Whites, Sole, Flounder and Turkey Breast
Suggested Carbohydrate Choices: Starchy Carbs- Oatmeal, Rice, Potato, Yams
Fibrous Carbs: Asparagus, Cauliflower, Eggplant, Turnips, Bell Peppers, Celery, Green Beans, Zucchini, Broccoli, Collards, Radishes, Cabbage, Cucumbers, Tomato
Fruits: Apple, Blueberry, Blackberry, Cherries, Grapes, Orange, Plum, Raspberry, Strawberry.
Q. Can I use other QuickTrim products while on this kit?
A. Not any of the diet products. While you are using the Burn & Cleanse, you should not use any other fat burners or stimulant products, cleansing products or water pill/diuretic products. These are contained in the kit and are already part of the system. Using additional products that contain the same types of ingredients can be unsafe. You can however use the Celluslim gel to help target cellulite and problem areas.
Q. What can I do to make the suggested foods taste better?
A. It is important to note that the more sauces and flavorings you add to your food, the more difficult and confusing it is to properly calculate and monitor your daily intake. Sauces and dressings are typically high in sugar and sodium and some are high in fat. Therefore, it is important to limit them during the first week and eliminate them on the second week while on this program.
There are, however, a few ways to make meals more enjoyable:
You may use any of the following spices to flavor your foods: Basil, Cayenne Pepper, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Cumin, Curry Powder, Mustard Powder, Oregano, Paprika, Parsley, Rosemary, Garlic, Sage, Tarragon and Thyme. Chili Powder and other spices containing salt should be avoided during the final 5 days of the system.
Use fat free tomato sauces or mustard in moderation during the first week of the program. Chopped onion or garlic may be used for added flavor throughout the system.
Lemon and vinegar, as well as artificial sweeteners can be used in moderation during the entire program.
Q. Do I have to eat four meals?
A. Your QuickTrim™ diet is based on the amount of the protein and carbohydrates consumed in a given day by way of four small meals eaten approximately three to four hours apart. Small frequent meals can help the metabolism to remain more active. This method, along with proper exercise can help speed the process of metabolism, resulting in improved tone and quality of the muscle tissue as well as the depletion of fat stores. This diet program is vital to the overall success of the Quick Trim Burn & Cleanse- 14 Day Diet System. Only as an absolute last resort should three meals be eaten instead of four. If that is the case, remember that your total daily food intake should remain the same.
Q. Will the weight loss be permanent?
A. Weight loss can never be called permanent due to the fact that it is a continuous process of vigilance on the part of the individual to maintain proper diet and exercise. The following tips may be helpful in maintaining a desired weight:
- Eat smaller more frequent meals (4-5), instead of fewer larger meals (2-3)
- Limit fat intake to 20% or less of total caloric intake
- Maintain a consistent aerobic exercise regimen.
- Use resistance training a minimum of 3 times per week
- Limit sugars intake and avoid drinks with hidden calories
- Allow yourself a “cheat day” every now and then to make it easier to follow a healthier diet throughout the year.
Q. Will using QuickTrim Burn & Cleanse cause hair loss?
A. The products should not cause hair loss but since everyone is different, there is no way of telling how everyone will react to a product. If someone’s diet is severely deficient in nutrients then this could happen.
